We are SQRD
SQRD is an independent technology and AI consultancy for workplaces and buildings, based in Singapore and working across Asia Pacific. We assess building systems, architect the integration, and write the vendor neutral specification the market tenders against. We do not sell, resell or integrate the systems we specify.

Our mission
01 / 04Future spaces
made real.
Technology has evolved. Human behaviour has evolved faster. The spaces people work in have barely moved, because they are still treated as static infrastructure rather than living systems.
The industry does not lack ambition. It lacks sequence. Products get selected before requirements get written, architectures get inherited rather than designed, and the party advising on what to buy is usually the party selling it.
SQRD exists to hold the other position. We define the requirement, then we help you take it to market and hold suppliers to it. That is the whole business.

Simon Long
Twenty five years and more than one hundred projects at the intersection of space, technology and human behaviour.
Simon has spent his career on the client side of building and workplace technology, which is an unusual place to spend it. Most people with this much systems knowledge end up selling systems. The work has been consistently the opposite: working out what an organisation actually needs, writing it down precisely enough that the market can respond to it, and then making sure what was promised is what gets delivered.
Most recently that was CBRE, where as Senior Director of Technology Consulting he led the technology for the firm's flagship Singapore office at Marina Bay Financial Centre. The project took two awards in 2025 and remains the clearest evidence of what the method produces.
SQRD was founded to do that independently, without a hardware line, an integration arm or a vendor commission anywhere in the business.

Daniel Osborne
Japan and Southeast Asia are not secondary markets in the workplace conversation. They are where the gap between digital ambition and physical reality is widest.
Daniel leads SQRD's client engagements across Japan and Southeast Asia, based in Japan. He joined in April 2026, after demand since launch outgrew what a single market could serve, and his remit is to close that gap on the ground rather than from a deck.
More than a decade in technology before that, spanning roles at Oracle and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Software and hardware both, which is an unusual combination and a useful one on this side of the table: he knows how a vendor builds a case, and he knows where it stops being true.
He also builds out the advisory practice for Japanese and Southeast Asian markets specifically, rather than importing a model from elsewhere and hoping it lands.

Why SQRD
04 / 04We do not sell the systems we specify.
There is no hardware line in our business, no integration arm, and no vendor commission. Our only product is the recommendation, which means it is the only thing we have to get right.
Vendor neutral
We specify what the building needs, then we help you take it to market and hold suppliers to it.
Specification led
We define the requirement before anyone selects a product, because the order matters and reversing it is expensive.
Delivery tested
Twenty five years and more than one hundred projects. Everything we recommend has to survive contact with a live building.
